YSL Blogger Bag Unboxing & Review
Hi everyone! Today I wanted to do a reveal [not quite a reveal] of my Yves Saint Laurent 'Blogger Bag'! I wanted to show some pictures of the unboxing and go in depth about what I like about the bag. I've had this bag for about 3 months now, but I wanted to get some proper use out of it in order to do a review. Isn't it ironic that it's called the 'Blogger Bag' ?! Hehe, I promise I didn't buy it just because of the name. I hope you enjoy!
First and foremost, I purchased this bag from SSENSE.com, a Canadian luxury and independent designer online store. I've been eyeing the blogger bag for some time now, mostly seeing it in the black leather with silver and gold hardwares. The retail price for this bag is $995....yes, a whole hell of a lot for such a small bag. When I came across it on SSENSE, I fell in love with this color! It is in the burgundy leather with gold monogram hardware. I haven't seen anyone with the burgundy, and if you know me, you'd know it is one of my favorite colors to wear. What made the purchase even better is that it was on sale for $657 with free two-day shipping! It was quite the impulse buy at the time because I had money saved for myself for something else, but when things didn't go the way I planned, I kind of took that plunge. Do NOT be like me lol! But nonetheless, I am extremely happy with my purchase!
I am more of a tote type of girl, especially since I tend to bring my whole life with me in my bag, so this blogger bag definitely taught me how to be minimalistic with the items I bring along with me. It is about the width of my iPhone 6s, so it doesn't fit much. I tend to just carry a small wallet, a coin purse, a card holder, and my phone. The inside of the bag also has card slots on each side of it as well. I tend to not put my phone in it anyways since it's always in my hand. It also has a slot on the outside where I'd put things in there really quick for easy access. This bag resembles the Gucci Soho Disco bag, especially with the tassel zip, but a bit smaller, which I liked. I saw a comparison of these two bags on YouTube and they are about the same width, but the blogger bag is smaller in height and length. Check out MelSoldera on YT for some more details!
The length of the small leather strap is actually perfect for me. I am 5'2, and it's perfect over-the-shoulder and cross-body. I hate when straps are too short for people to wear it cross-body and end up making the bag fall at an awkward length. Although it is not adjustable, it fits me perfectly. It may fit differently if you are much taller or shorter than me.
Overall I am head-over-heels for this bag! Although it is a lot smaller than I am used to, I am loving the fit, color, and am getting quite a lot of use out of the bag. It is a bag that transitions from day to night flawlessly. It is something I can throw on for a casual day, or something I wear for a night out.
