Re-branding NIKA: Neek's Nook

Long-time no see friends! I know I have neglected this baby for some time now, but I am back and feeling very apologetically Neek. What I plan to do with this platform is solely going to focus on one thing; focusing on a safe space just for myself.
Continue reading if you would like to join this journey with me
and join me in my little nook of the internet!

What is a "Nook"?
The definition of nook is: "a corner or recess, especially one offering seclusion or security."

Neek's Nook
Neek's Nook (www.NeeksNook.com) is the new domain that my blog will now go by. The blog itself will not really have any physical changes to its layout and design, as I still really do love it! What Neek's Nook will encompass will be what I want to post and when I would like to post.

This Nook will serve as a safe space for myself, my interests, and my goals. I am trying to find out what it is that I am passionate about, and who the person it is that I am becoming.

At one point I felt a lot of pressure to keep delivering more content to "keep up" with my image and was asked to do a lot of featured blogging. As much as I appreciated the potential collaboration opportunities that were given to me, that was never the intention of what blogging was supposed to mean for me. I also unfortunately experienced a loss in the family during COVID and this heavily affected my inspiration to blog and write. I will be making another blog post about my loss during that time to honor my late Grandmother.

I did not feel like I was being authentic and true to myself.

Going forward, I want to be able to talk about the things that I want to genuinely write about without any pressure. This platform was originally a way for me to write down my thoughts and look back on. Also, I will only be taking on sponsorship and collaboration opportunities if I feel that it is right for me. There are some criteria that any campaigns that reach out to me would have to fall under, they are as follows:
  1. Aligns with content - My blog is based around my interests, so I would feel that I am not being authentic if I took a campaign opportunity for something that I do not talk about or  promote on this blog already.
  2. I must believe in the product - If you have seen my past reviews, you would know I am pretty transparent with my opinions on any products I have received. I will only be reviewing products that I surely do believe in and use in my everyday life.
  3. Timing - I have a full-time job and love making time for my loved ones so if a campaign has a time crunch that I cannot commit to, then I simply cannot partake in it.

To conclude, I will definitely be working on more lifestyle content, like working, managing my diabetes, reading, travel, and hopefully more beauty/fashion posts! Thank you for taking the time out of your busy day to read my thoughts and I hope to provide you with more content this year!
